This will be a short post because I have...errr I mean GET to go on a fieldtrip with Kid C into the mountains during a monsoon. And no, I don't live in Asia or Indonesia where monsoons are common. I live in Utah--a DESERT. What is Mother Nature thinking?
So, the question I have for you today is: What does one wear to go on a monsoon fieldtrip?
Galoshes?
Rain poncho?
Hip waders?
Or do I need one of these?
What does this have to do with writing. Nada. Who writes during a monsoon fieldtrip? Seriously folks, my computer would get wet and some things are just so wrong.
I'll try to tread water long enough to post a real post on Thursday.

I think my son's going on the same fieldtrip. I was tempted to send a flotation device or a canoe - but I'm thinking there will be space issues on the bus, and I'll bet someone else is already bringing them. Sigh. He's going to settle for an umbrella. I hope you do better!
I hope you survive! And I have no idea what you would wear. Things not to wear: white t-shirts, white pants with red underwear. Just sayin'. :)
Leisha: One of the most favorite things I love about you is: You are never boring. Whether you are writing a blog, a short story, or a mamoth novel, you are AWESOME!
You've even made me consider going on a Monsoon Field Trip with my two little grandsons. Are there maps to guide me, or GPS me to the locations?
Please get back to me soon, as the grandkids keep munching down all the smores I was going to take with us. Uh ... do smarshmallows go well with Monsoons?
Your long lost friend,
Irene aka Renie
You are so funny, Leisha! You make me laugh and I love reading your posts! I just barely got into the blogging game and started a blog, so I looked up your blog and wished I had been reading it all along! You are such a gifted writer and you have a fantastic knack for writing about your experiences and tying them into writing. Thanks! Oh, my blog address is: brendasills.blogspot.com Come on over!
Jonene, I'm pretty sure they won't let him take the boat on the bus. But we could show up next time with one just to see what they say. Ahhh, fun times.
Susan, guess what, I didn't even end up going. I showed up at the school and stood waiting in the rain for the bus with Kid C. It was wet, miserable, and in desperation I offered to take Kid C to a movie and buy him pizza. He's a smart guy. Yup we ended up watching Despicable Me. So much better. :)
Irene! I miss you! You should have joined us for impromptu pizza. :)
Brenda, thanks! I'm heading over to your blog right now. Grin!
